Evidence and measurement methodology

A number without a period, a denominator and a definition is decoration. This page gives all three for every figure published on this site.

Every figure SellerFlow publishes comes from its own production system, states the period it covers, and names what it does not prove. Operational measurement is not causal proof: a recorded price decision does not demonstrate a sale, and an internal reconciliation is not an independent audit. This page defines each metric and its limits.

Market observations

Readings of competing offers captured from public Amazon offer pages, counted as individual readings over a stated 30-day window. One product read several times produces several observations. It is a measure of coverage, not of unique products.

Price decisions

Price changes computed and applied by the pricing engine over a stated period, counted per SKU event. A price decision is a decision, not an outcome.

Orders reconciled

Orders whose computed economics were compared line by line against Amazon's own settlement report for the same period.

Settlement deviation

The difference between the profit figure computed by the system and the figure derived from Amazon's settlement report, over the reconciled population, expressed as a percentage.

This figure replaced an earlier one on 19 August 2026, and here is why. Until that date this site published a deviation of 0.18% across 8,653 orders. That figure could not be regenerated: it lived as a stored constant with no documented routine behind it, so nobody could re-derive it. It has been withdrawn and replaced by the figure below, which comes from a routine that can be run again in front of anyone who disputes it.

What the routine measures, exactly. Population: orders present in both our own records and Amazon's settlement data, matched by order id; an order present on only one side is not compared. Numerator: our total minus Amazon's total, signed. Denominator: Amazon's total — Amazon is the reference, not us. Period: a full calendar month. Marketplaces: the Spanish account's own; accounts and countries are not mixed. Refunds and returns are taken as Amazon reports them, so a refund reduces both sides. Cost of goods is excluded, because Amazon does not settle it.

Two guards decide whether a month counts. Settlement maturity: a month is not measured until 45 days after it closes, because Amazon is still adjusting before that and measuring early produces a number that means nothing. Completeness: both sides must have the field populated on at least 80% of rows, so an empty column cannot masquerade as a discrepancy.

The result. Four months of 2026 pass both guards: 0.14% revenue deviation across 14,559 settled orders (January to April 2026). The exact value is −0.1370%; it is published as 0.14% because a figure like this is rounded up in magnitude, never down. The negative sign means our records are slightly below what Amazon settled.

This measures revenue, not profit. Profit cannot be reconciled today: the fee and profit columns on our side are unpopulated from May 2026 onward, and Amazon does not settle cost of goods at all. Calling this "settlement deviation" without qualification would imply the profit figure had been checked, and it has not.

Review requests

Requests sent through Amazon's official Solicitations API, counted per order. No custom message and no incentive is involved.

Buyer-message automation

Buyer messages read and answered by the system, counted per case. Cases escalated to a human are counted separately.

FBA discrepancy detection

Closed inbound FBA shipments where units located by Amazon did not match units sent, with the supporting evidence gathered. Detection only.

What these numbers do not prove

What this page deliberately does not include. It defines what is measured and evaluated. It does not publish how the pricing engine weights its inputs: no thresholds, no calibrated ceilings, no escalation phases, no competitor classification rules. Those are the product.

Versioning

This methodology carries a date. When a definition, a period or a population changes, the date changes with it and the previous statement is not silently replaced.

Frequently asked questions

Are SellerFlow's published metrics audited by a third party?

No, and we do not present them as audited. They come from our own production system and are reconciled internally against Amazon's settlement report. That is a useful check and it is not the same thing as an independent audit, so we label it as what it is.

What does settlement deviation actually mean?

It is the gap between the profit the system computes and the profit derived from Amazon's own settlement report over the reconciled orders. A documented routine now defines the population, numerator, denominator and period, and only measures months that are already settled. The specific figure shown elsewhere on this site predates that routine and does not match it, so we publish both rather than replace one with the other.

Does SellerFlow claim its repricer increases sales?

No. We publish what the system evaluates, decides and executes, and the periods those counts cover. Claiming a conversion or revenue uplift would require a controlled experiment we have not run, so we do not make that claim. We publish what can be counted and label what it does not prove.

Why is the number of review requests not the number of reviews?

Because Amazon delivers the request and the buyer decides. We can count requests sent through the official API with certainty; we cannot attribute a resulting review to a specific request, so we only publish the count we can stand behind.

How current are the figures on this site?

Each figure carries the date of the measurement that produced it, and this page carries its own last-updated date. When a definition or a period changes, the date changes with it. When a definition or a period changes, the date changes with it and the previous statement is not silently replaced, so an old claim can still be checked against the version that produced it.
